Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is an Indian-born British American artist and a sitarist, is well known for her songs. She was awarded the British House of Commons' Shield, which is the youngest and the first female to receive it. Apart from receiving nine Grammy nominations and nine Grammy nominations, she also became the very first Indian-origin musician to present at and perform at the award ceremony. Anoushka is a emerging star of Indian sitar. She is Ravi Shankar's pupil, and the daughter of Ravi Shankar. Born in London She spent her early years of her life bouncing between London and New Delhi. In the age of thirteen she staged her debut performance at New Delhi. When she moved to Encinitas the state of California, in 1999 she earned a high-school diploma. Anouskha still has a promising music and acting career, despite being young. Since quite some time, she regularly performs with her father. In 1998, she released her first single album Anourag. It was nominated for a Grammy Award. Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. She has appeared at many famous venues throughout the world. Her career extends beyond music. She also published Bapi The Love of My Life in 2002. It is a biography that pays tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. She has also acted in movies in 2003. She played the role in the film Dance Like a Man where she portrays an aspiring Bharat Natyam performer. After that, she moved to California to finish high school. She started learning to play the guitar when she was nine years old and played the sitar in celebration of the 75th anniversary her father's birth in Delhi four years later.
